Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a fabulous holiday season and a happy new year. Mended Hearts has a lot of wonderful things that are happening in the New Year. I thought I would share a few things that might interest you. If something is happening in your chapter, let us know! That way others can find out about it.
Jan. 15th is the deadline for those who are interested in sharing their story of having a heart attack and how you celebrate life now. The link is on the Mended Hearts homepage so you can go there to submit your essay. The winners will win a trip to NYC with celebrity Bob Harper. How fun would that be?
February 22nd is Heart Valve Disease awareness day. We will be having activities surrounding that, along with our other Heart Month information.
Speaking of Heart Month....Are you an adult with a CHD? We encourage you to share your photo on how you "Rock Your Scar". This photo contest raises awareness for congenital heart disease and how individuals have overcome their challenges. It's so empowering to share with others your success. This contest is also on our homepage!
And finally....Are you looking to set goals of walking, jogging, or running in the New Year? Mended Little Hearts has a virtual marathon (which means you can do it where you are, inside or outside) that you can join. You pick your distance: 1 mile, 5K, Half marathon, or full marathon.....Then you have a week to complete those miles. You get a really cool medal for participating and all funds raised from registration go to the Mended Little Hearts Bravery Bag program. This is on the homepage too!! (Lots of great stuff on the website)
