My name is Ron, I am 65, and I had triple bypass surgery 11 months ago. The first 6-months of recovery were difficult, though nothing compared to what some of you have been through. My recovery challenges were not heart function related. My heart was working well. Rather I had muscular back and chest soreness. Ribs kept dislocating and popping back in. Also I had thrush that would not go away, even with the strongest of medications. I think the thrush meds did a number on my digestive system. Anyway, I continue to feel stronger. I am walking 2-miles each day at a sub 15-minute mile pace.

Hello ! Ron and Welcome to the Group.
Congratulations on your recovery !  Just know that Everyone's recovery is certainly different, the deficits that some are left with can be most encompassing.  Yet, the fact that you have worked your Cardio regimen up to a 2 mile pace is something to be very proud of.  As far as your Thrush affliction, the Medicine to correct it & the Stomach/Intestinal issues; you should try using a Probiotic.  I used to be on a prescription Strength Probiotic until the same Blend was available over the counter now it is from Sams Club Item # 101273 called Members Mark 10 Strain Probiotic (84 Count)  This corrects many intestinal/immune issues that remain from being on many Anti-biotical type Medicines that affect the efficiency of the Intestinal System.  My hope for you is that you continue to Recover and Heal and can put this chapter of your life in the file labeled "Completed", to allow you to move on to another project !!  Be Blessed . . .

Welcome aboard, Ron.  How are the ribs now?  I had a quintuple bypass 3 years ago but never had any rib issues.  I did have what felt like but wasn't muscle soreness in my left pectoral muscle for a few months, but that was near the site of where they harvested my left mammary artery as a graft for my nearly completely blocked left anterior descending coronary artery.  That discomfort is long gone.

If the rib "dislocating" feeling is still happening, I would recommend talking to your thoracic surgeon about it.  Maybe something easily fixable.

Good luck, and please keep us posted.
