Hello,
My prayers to so many who have had such trauma mentally and physically due to Surgery.
I have not seen any thing n this forum relating to Descending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm. Mine was discovered in 2016 and was stable 4.0 to 4.5 until 2019. My Last CT Scan and Echo in July 2020 showed it had increased in size to 5.5.CM, which usually means it is time for surgery. My surgeon said this would be the opportune time to do TEVAR surgery, hospital stay would be 5 or 6 days and I would be good to go.
He also said we had the option due to it being Descending and my age (84) to do another CT Scan in January and he would go on record as saying by January it would be at or close to 6.0 CM due to the rate of growth. Then surgery would be mandatory. I took the January option.
Has anyone had this procedure, were there any complications and how long was the recuperation period. Thank you.
