Mailbox overflow

Please consider using "Reply to Sender" instead of "Reply to Group". Some of us don't have time to read 20-25-30 messages a day especially when many are of no interest.

    Just my two cents.

    Hi Don,
I'm sorry you feel this way. Maybe you can change your settings so you don't receive all these emails. I for one hope everyone keeps replying to group instead of sender. I don't mind all the emails. When I have the extra time is when I enjoy sitting down and reading them.
I'm not one to reply very often or post questions very often so I enjoy reading what others have to say. Whether it's what they went through, are about to go through, are experiencing or maybe just offering advice for the rest of us.
This group has been a lifesaver for me and I'm so THANKFUL for all of it's members.
If I may put my two cents in, all of these messages are of interest to me. I think it's great for us silent members! I feel we are all here for each other. I vote keep replying to group : )
    Have a beautiful day!
    Michelle

I volunteer at one of our local hospitals cardiac unit by wiping down nurses stations and visitors areas and doing restocking of supplies. This allows me to talk with patients since our chapter closed down. I had bypass surgery 15 years ago and was the chapter visitor chair.
The information that I get from the forum allows me to better connect with the patients. Besides it is inspirational.

Do you know about The  First Amendment? The heart is a fickle thing. It wants what it wants.
If you don't have "time"to read 25-30 posts simply don't read them. Encouragement is everything for anyone with a severe heart issue. Personally, I read all kinds of posts. It is an outlet when some of us have no other outlet. Perhaps you could consider that.

Please, everyone, Reply to Group and not to Reply to Sender.

I have learned so much valuable information from this group.  It has helped me immensely both from a physical and mental aspect.

We are all in this together and if I can help anyone by reading their message, I will.

I did say "consider". A specific answer to a specific question should in many cases go to the requester.

Personally, I pose my questions to my cardiologist and/or PCP.

Don, if you're getting overwhelmed by emails, just adjust your settings (click your name in the upper right corner of the page to get there) so you just get one, consolidated email at the end of the day of all the posts, instead of every post as it comes through. Then you don't get overwhelmed and folks who want to see all the emails, get to see all the emails. Easy peasy.

    Cheers,

Don, I disagree with you.  I stand with Ginny, Michelle and John.  A lot if us learn a great deal from other people's problems, even if they have different conditions than we do, and regardless of whether they've had different experiences experiences.

There's a reason for this.  It's because the one experience we all share all the time is the human experience.  If you don't want to read a bunch of messages, that's your prerogative.  Just delete them. But I consider every poster on this board my sister and brother and I want every single one of them every single time to feel free to post and respond to all.

I may not respond to posts concerning things about which I have no knowledge or experience, but I appreciate and want to keep reading every single one of them.

Respectfully Don, this is a group about sharing information. You are here voluntarily.

I subscribed here after being diagnosed with a thoracic aortic aneurysm about a year ago, and have gotten many good answers here just from reading. Answers to questions I might not have thought about asking my cardiologist or cardiac thoracic surgeon. Do I follow up with my physician? Yes, because I never take any answer as fact. BUT, the members of this group also provide a perspective that most doctors cannot- that of patient, and patients of a very specific issue.

Are there days I don't feel like reading responses? Certainly, and then I hit delete. Pretty simple.

I wish you the best, but life is about choice that we are all blessed to have. Exercise your choices if you must, but you do you!

Very well put, Cindy!! I agree with you completely!! Cardiologists don’t have time to discuss all the multitude of issues that affect ALL of us. Your words are perfectly put. This forum is a great resource. My added input is that as a full time working mom, I don’t have time to meet with my group in person. As a result, I’m closer to all of you!! Thank you to each and everyone of you for sharing your experiences. Blessings and please let the dialogue continue to ALL the group. ❤️

I find that when I hit "Reply to Sender," I have to log in, but when I hit "Reply to Group," an email comes up right away. So it's a lot easier.

I don't read topics or emails that aren't of interest, so I don't find it a problem.

    Don,
It may be "of no use" to you but important to someone else.  All you have to do is continue scrolling if you don't want to read a post.  Everyone should be encouraged to share from their heart on this site.

I am able to scan quickly if the topic or message may apply to me or not, and if it is a really personal topic that I already share with 2 or 3 members, then I send from my personal email box or To Sender.

Even My sister who is not a heart patient, is interested in the messages about the Sternum because her doctor wants to go
into her esophagus through the sternum and she wants to know what she might face if she goes through with it.

I have found that many of the topics were issues that I underwent even later sometimes months after my OHS.
