I had my Triple Bypass in 2008. Till this day the top portion of the scar in the center is still sensitive. Does anyone else have same problem or am I the lucky one. Any suggestion to diminish it will be appreciated.

Welcome to the communities. I hope that some other members will chime in and let you know about sensitivity with scars. I know personally (I am not a heart patient, but a heart mom) my c-section scar is still sensitive at times, 12 years later. So, that might be a common theme with suergey sites.

My chest scar is fine. However, the scar in my arm where an artery was removed has been sensitive for 3 years. Now, it is finally feeling more normal.

I have the same thing and they told me that after a year you have to deal with it.
My upper left part of my chest is still numb.

Hi Tanveer,
I had bypass in 2011 and my scar also stays sensitive in some areas.  From my own experience, I found if I massage the areas with cocoa butter, it seems to help a bit.  It doesn't last long, but it's a temporary relief for me.  I don't know if anyone else has tried this or not.  I still cannot touch the middle of my sternum, though, without shuddering from the sensation I get. 

Hopefully, someone else can share what has possibly helped them.

I entered the wrong date of my bypass.  2011 was when I had my STEMI.  My bypass was November 2014.  I apologize for the error.

Had triple bypass July 2014. Center scar still slightly sensitive. But left chest, where mammary artery was cut/moved to be used in bypass, still is rather numb. It makes me feel vulnerable, but I think I just have to live with it. Cardio doctor just shrugs when I tell him about it. He said most of discomfort should subside after a year, but it hasn't.

Hi, Tanveer.  I had that problem, but it wasn't so much that it was painful, but that it ITCHED, especially when it was hot out, or when I would exercise.  On a routine trip to my dermatologist, I mentioned it to her.  She took a look and said that she could reduce the scar for me, if I wanted.  (I had a beaut!)  I told her the looks don't bother me so much, but the itching does.  She gave me a course of cortisone injections right into the scar.  I was like a miracle.  It reduced the scar, yes, but the itching went away completely.  Everyone is different, of course.  But you might look into the procedure to see if it might help your sensitivity.  (My cardiologist couldn't help me, either.  Wrong doc, at least for me.)
