I'm often asked if I've change my diet since my two hart events. I say no but that isn't true; I have always eaten healthy but now my daily intact minus a slip up here and there is healthier. I've taken to using the wok more frequently tot stir fry vegetables in a very small amount of peanut oil,  Then stir in cooked brown rice with a touch of low sodium soy salt.  It's delicious and filling and healthy. YUM!

I had a triple bypass 15 years ago in 2002.  At that time, during cardiac rehab, i attended nutrition classes.  One of the many important lessons that I took away from these classes is to control my intake of saturated fat.  Over the last 15 yrs I try to make sure that anything that I eat or buy contains no more than 2 grams of saturated fat per serving and no more than 20 grams per day.  This has served my well over the years as my cholesterol levels have maintained about 150 and my grafts remain open.  Be sure you read labels of foods that you purchase at the market.
