    Ha s anyone gone on Tikosyn for a fib. Dr. wants me to go in for a 3 day stay to get on this. Sounds risky.

    My Dr. wants me to get on Tikosyn. Has anyone used this, sounds scary!!

    Thanks for asking this question. I'm sorry you haven't found anyone who was on the medication to ask advice from. I am not familiar with the medication but good luck in the decision. I think as you make the decision it's important to weigh the pros and cons and talk with the doctor to answer any questions you have prior to starting it. Maybe:Why does he/she feel it's important for you to be on? What are your other options? How does this medication differ from the other options? Does the risk outweigh the benefit?

    Since we started visiting the non-surgical patients at one of our hospitals last year, we see a lot of AFIB patients being treated with Ticosyn. I think it has to do with your symptoms. I have heard that not all doctors are qualified to prescribe it. I do know it is initially administered in the hospital and they keep you there for three days to monitor your heart, liver, and kidneys. Hope this helps.
