Hi everybody. My name is Guy Woodard. I'm 43 years old from Aberdeen, MD. I just recently had triple bypass CABG surgery on 7/23/20. I am at my 5th week of recovery right now. It all started with me going to work at Medline Industries in Perryville, MD. I work there as a receiving clerk for the smaller items that they need. Anyways, I got to work on 7/20/20, and started getting short of breath, sweating, feeling dizzy. I told my co-worker that I was going to the doctor to get checked out, so I left work and went straight to Patient First. The doctor there told me I had to go to Upper Chesapeake hospital to get some kind of heart enzyme test. So I went there, and they did a few diagnostic tests, and started putting an IV port in my arm. I guess I was going to be admitted. The next thing I know, I was on a table in the catheterization lab. They told me I was 100% blocked in one artery, 90% blocked in another, and 50% blocked in another. I was going to have to be transferred to St. Joseph's Hospital in Towson, MD. So I was sent there, was repaired by Dr. Salenger and his amazing people, and I am feeling a lot better today. I start cardiac rehab this Friday, and I can't wait to get back to working and things being somewhat normal.

The pain from having the chest tubes removed was enough to make me want to quit smoking, permanently. I threw them away on the spot. Have to change for the better. I just bought my first house two years ago, felt like I was just getting started with things, and it almost ended. I came so close to dying, it scared me. Life really is fragile.
