Looking for support for COVID

  • 1.  Looking for support for COVID

    Hi Everyone!
Hope this message finds you all well. You are all so kind and have always had great words of encouragement for me when I first joined this group. I'm in need of prayers and encouraging words more than ever. I tested positive for COVID and am in hospital. They admitted me yesterday, I'm on day 7 with the virus. I had the remdesivir and plasma treatments today. I'm still on oxygen and now I know why it's so difficult to breathe. I've developed COVID Pneumonia sometime during the past few days! Please say a prayer for me as I'm very scared😢
    Thank you all so much!!!!

    Good Morning Ira,

Thank you so much for your kinds words of support! I read these messages while in the hospital but was just too tired to reply then. All these messages sure helped me to get through this and helped me to smile when I wasn't feeling too well. I'm so happy to say I'm home now and have been improving each day! My dr said I should be feeling myself again in about 4 more weeks!

I hope you and your family have the merriest Christmas and a  very safe and healthy New Year!

    Michelle

PS I'm still looking forward to your book!

    Hello Michelle
What a scary time for you and yours. And I appreciate how lonely it must be. Yes, prayers are with you. I read every reason for hope in what you write about your symptoms and treatment. Picture yourself going home with stories to tell. I send a hug from Ohio

    Good Morning Doris,

Thank you so much for your kind words and virtual hug! They were much needed as I was very scared when the breathing problems started. I read these messages while in the hospital but didn't really have the strength to reply then.

I'm so very fortunate to be home now and on the mend. My Dr said I should be myself again in about 4 more weeks.

Wishing you the merriest Christmas and a safe and happy New Year!

    Enjoy your day!

    Hi Michelle,
My thoughts and prayers, as well as many others, are with you.  We know you will apply the same optimistic outlook and determination to your current situation as you did when the heart problems appeared.  Please keep us up to date.

Our prayers are with you. Thanks for reaching out to us
My husband was in the Hospital in early October with Covid Pneumonia like you. He had the same treatments as you and did well with them. He came home after one week but is still using oxygen . Hope this good news gives you encouragement .
However he was very frustrated by having to stay in that room the whole time, no walking in the halls . It was very lonely ( he said he has empathy for prisoners in solitary confinement)
Please use your facetime / Telephone. text messages etc techniques to visit with your family and friends.
Be sure to buy a pulseoxymeter (spelling?) for when you go home . Call me if you need tips. hopefully you will be home soon

    Good Morning Marilyn,

Thank you so much for sharing your husband's experience with me and for your kinds words of encouragement! I want to also thank you for giving me your phone number in case I need to reach out  : )

I read all these messages while in the hospital but was too tired to reply. They sure lifted my spirits!

It sounds like your husband and I had the same experience. Did he seem to have a bit of brain fog during that time or maybe even still occasionally?

I was able to come home without the oxygen but sill have to monitor it. It is has been holding at 96. My Dr said I should be myself again in about 4 weeks. I can even start back with my walking, have to start out slow though because I still tire very easily.

How is your husband feeling now?

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a very safe and healthy New Year!

    Michelle

I joke that my husband bought the pulseoxymeter as my birthday present ... as that is when  it arrived ( we were too sick to celebrate) ... using it saved his life . Everyone should own one

    Good Morning Marilyn,
Hahaha, had to laugh when I read your reply. That would be my husband and I as well!  But yes, I agree everyone should have a pulse ox. Not sure what would've happened if I hadn't already had one! Hope you both are doing well : )

    Michelle, or is it Mixhelle?
This has been a tough year for so many. Please know that we are here rooting for you. I know several people who've been in your position and have recovered after therapy. They were all older, in pretty poor health, with multiple ailments such as diabetes, and on respirators, so with your youth I believe you'll bounce back. Besides we need your smiling face here to perk everyone up.

I'd send a hug but my wife frowns on that. Take care

    Good Morning Ralph (Warren),

Thank you so much for your kind words and sharing this info!

I read your message while in the hospital but was too tired to reply then. It put (and still does) a much needed smile on my face! Thank you!

I'm so happy and so thankful to say I'm home now, and without the extra oxygen! My Dr said I should be feeling myself again in about 4 more weeks.

I wish you and your wife a very merry Christmas and a very safe and healthy New Year!

    Hi Everyone!
i want to give you all an update. But first I want to thank you all so much for your prayers, love, support and all of your kind words. I have really enjoyed reading your messages. I was reading them over again. It helped when I had a few setbacks. It means more to me than you know, I'm crying as I write this but they are happy tears! Thank you ❤️

I'm feeling better! I'm still so very tired but that's okay because I'm feeling better! I still require oxygen and will be sent home with it. The Dr said I may only need it a few more weeks. I had my fifth and last remdesivir treatment today, yay! I also had two plasma transfusions my first two days here. Those went well too! Along with vitamin c, d and zinc everyday! If I can get through the heart recovery I can do this!! When I get home I want to personally thank each one of you❤️ I'm hoping to be discharged soon 😊

I hope you all stay safe and healthy!
Hugs and love to you all!
    Michelle
