Well folks, my motor is running down, and I really don't have a lot of gas in my tank. I think it's time for me to hang up my spurs and move along. I wish you all the very best. It has been an honor to belong to Mended Hearts and hopefully give back to people who need help and support on this journey. I wish everyone the very best, and I'll see you on the other side...assuming my late mother-in-law lets me loose in the afterlife.

    Ralph,

Your presence here enriches us and will continue to enrich us whether or not you post here in the future; a future which is nothing more than our present imagination of what may or may not become.  We hope that whatever tomorrow brings, we will hear from you again, here or one way or another.

Hello Warren and thanks for your message.  I've not known you very long but I was immediately impressed by your kindness, compassion and generosity in supporting others.  Seems it's time to extend support your way for the next bit of the journey.  Wishing you peace and know many care about you.  You make a difference every day.
    Godspeed
    Doris

I know where you're coming from. I've been getting weaker and weaker almost every day and feel like I'm getting near the end of the road. I'm only 57 but my heart has been steadily failing since my OHS two years ago. As a person of faith I'm not afraid of what's waiting on the other side and were it not for my family I would probably welcome it. I'm tired. Tired of feeling bad every day and tired of every time I get hit with a chest pain wondering "Is this it? Is the one that's going to take me out?". I feel like I'm on death row waiting on my final appeal to be rejected. Would love to be around another 10 or 20 years and create more memories but it doesn't look like it's in the cards. At least if it is my time then I can look back and say that I've had a pretty amazing life. I was just a Mississippi farm boy that left home three days after high school graduation who has been blessed to have traveled to 45 different countries and 42 of the 50 states, have hung out with the rich and famous, dined with heads of state, spoken before thousands of people and done and seen things that most people never have the opportunity to. I have been immensely blessed to be married to my best friend, have had two amazing sons that I'm very proud of and a beautiful 2 1/2 year old granddaughter who thinks her Papa hung the moon in the sky. I thank God every day for the life I've had and will thank Him every day for keeping me around as long as He did when it's time to go.

See you on the other side!

    Hello Brett

I've reread your post several times and I've puzzled over how to reply.??
As an Ohio farmer's daughter and person of faith, I too am satisfied
with the life I got to live.?? And I am a person with severe CAD and
unstable angina.?? You describe a sense of failing strength and the idea
that each chest pain might signal the big one. I too wonder if each
episode of angina I have is going to the big one.

??Are you are in regular contact with your cardiologist??? It's been two
years since your OHS.?? Might this be a good time to describe how you're
feeling to someone who knows your case well?

That said, you know yourself better than anyone.?? I take what you write
seriously and want you to know that we understand how some level of
uncertainty is now part of our lives. Your peers send encouragement just
as support goes out to Warren.

    Stay in touch

Everyone ~ Sincere apologies to anyone who read this and thought I was/am going to the big kingdom in the sky, or in my case the hot house below. To my knowledge the end isn't that close just yet. I'm just finding with my deterioration from CHF I struggle to even remember simple words and it's become a bit much for me to form coherent yhoughts and  help here. Last thing I would want to do is upset a newby who us looking for help.

Again I apologize. All the best

No problem,  Ralph.  Your frustrations are certainly familiar ones to most of us. Deep breath, everyone.

Hugs and love, Ralph. I'm wishing you great thoughts and I'm hoping you can find new ways to manage your CHF. The struggle is real, and it's so frustrating. I think your wisdom and strength is a positive piece of what makes Mended Hearts so valuable. It's not always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes we all need some love and support, no matter how strong.
