Mended Hearts Open Forum

Hi Everyone,

Our Mended Hearts Chapter 290 participated the American Heart Association – Go Red Luncheon & Conference for Women in Anchorage, Alaska.  It was held on February 28 and there were many hundreds of women who attended along with many sponsors which included Providence Alaska Hospital, Alaska Heart and Vascular Institute and many more providers as well as businesses in the community.

In the morning there was a Heart Healthy Breakfast, Educational Breakout Sessions, a Health Expo and Screenings and a Silent Auction Gallery fundraiser.  The two topics presented in the morning were What's Feet Got To Do With It? and Debunking Nutrition Myths.  Our Chapter 290 had a table we manned that offered publications and materials on heart disease and answering questions from interested heart and stroke patients or their caregivers. 

Our President is Ron Crowl who has lead our chapter for many years.  We hold our meetings the 3^rd Tuesday of every month and we have approximately 15-20 members in attendance.
