Has anyone had aneurysm surgery at Mayo? I have heard that Cleveland Clinic is excellent but like a somewhat exclusive club that does great work but does not care if you sign on or not.

Why do want to travel so far?  I see you live in New York state; there are many excellent heart hospitals and doctors through out NY state.

I have my initial appointments there scheduled for next week. Everyone I have talked to so far has seemed very caring. I can give you a better assessment once we get back if you'd like.

I'd be interested in your opinion as well. When I have my surgery that is most likely when I go and probably will seek a second opinion there after I get my newest ct scan on Monday.

Hi Erin Thank you for getting back to me. I am in El Paso, originally from NYC. Going to Mayo was  out of the way and difficult from El Paso..A neurologist I know recommended Doctor Michael Marin Vascular Surgeon and Director of all Surgery at Mt Sinai NYC. He did the first Invasive Surgery in the USA in 1993, opened his own stent factor that was bought out by Johnson & Johnson. Her Uncle had same problem I have i.e. "Yes you do, No you don't need surgery"  My appt is 3/23.. I pray you do well at Mayo and have peace of mind. Thank you,
