    Hello everyone,

Sorry about the subject matter, but I'm dealing with a hemorrhoid problem.
Yesterday and this morning, I found a few drops of blood in the toilet. I'm on warfarin, and I don't feel like it's an emergency.  If anyone wants to comment, please do. I'll understand if you don't 😕

My aortic valve was replaced in June of 2017 , with a mechanical one.   The diagnosis was Aortic stenosis.

    Jim,

The blood is probably nothing, as you say, but I would be really careful when you're on warfarin and check with your doctor.  I was on blood thinners for 4 months post-OHS because of a blood clot, but my cardiologist quickly switched me from warfarin to one of the newer blood thinners that have significantly less bleeding risk and do not require weekly blood test monitoring.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

Dear Jim: this not new for you. If the bleeding becomes more, you need to check with the doctor ordering the blood thinner and the doctor you see for the “h” so they can make team decision what is safest for you

    Thanks Marilyn,
This morning was better. No blood in the toilet, just a very little on the paper.
Normally I would have gotten it checked out, but unfortunately I'm in a southern state, where the hospitals are full.
I check my INR weekly, from home and my numbers have been in the normal range .
Will continue to monitor. Any changes I'll go see my doctor.
                              Thanks again

    Hi Jim

Ira was correct. You might want to report this issue to your doc and ask about the possibility of going on Eliquis to replace the Warfarin. best of luck.  Lisa
