    When do you stop getting short of breathe after heart surgery? Had surgery Feb 1.

    Judith, Rule #1,discuss your lack of comfort with your Cardiologist.  I found that the new meds caused stomach problems leading to GERD​. That in turn lead to breathing discomfort. Change of heart meds and added stomach med, problem solved by the Cardiologist with past experience.  

    I refer to comfort with the understanding that if your shortness of breath causes dizziness or fainting that your caregivers will make a call to 911 or a short a trip to the nearest ER.  Dr Bill.
