I am 51 and mine was accidentally found after a CT scan I had because of an attack. I have a 5.4 ascending thoracic aortic aneurysm. I am at a loss on what I need to do. Surgeon said that it could be because of a bicuspid valve but I have No symptoms and no other health issues. Surgeon does not want to do surgery. He said he cant tell me what I should do, its up to me. If my valve is bicuspid then I am in the range for surgery and if its not we can wait until it reaches a 6.0. I asked if we can do a TEE to find out if my valve is bicuspid. His reaction was " If your goal is to get surgery sure'. I am so lost and don't know what I should do. I told him my goal is not to get surgery but to live... any advice is greatly appreciated.
