  • 1.  Removing ICD

    A blockage in my left descending artery resulted in a heart attack that resulted in an ICD being implanted. I have heart failure and have had an ablation and now my heart is in rhythm for the last three years. My ICD battery is low and I am considering having it removed. Any information in having an ICD removed would be greatly appreciated. Were your leads left in? Thanks and have a blessed evening.

    The EP who extracts your device will be the deciding factor on whether to leave the leads in place or extract them. Most are reluctant to remove the leads but ... I can say mine were in over 10 years and the EP said they popped right out, no big deal.
