I've been ON amiodarone 4 seperate Times Since 2009 (ten years). Its A Drug that has a Notoriously bad reputation for Long term use side affects supposedly And To be honest The only negative thing I've experianced that I can corelate to It (possibly) was ultimately suffereing AFIB after the fact BUT In reality UNLESS I KNEW THE drug had Cause My septal wall to thicken I have NO proof of that even being connected.... so Like Statins in Public opinion are supposedly TERRIBLE worst thing anyone can have but I also Know the 1st 6 years Post Aortic, I survived With My diet just fine And Now tha I am taking a statin I dont "have to"be as concerned about ALL my fats I have taugh myself Good practices Over the old poor ones .... I am also quite aware That these last ten years were a Gift IF I keel over right now I already had 10 Bonus years.
Update: On March 12 I was IN to see MY Doctor and he said he was pleased with my general Progress he's taken me Off he Amioderone, as long as My heart rate stays stable he says I will so you Next year SO I'm quite pleased

This drug was a miracle worker. However per the instructions of the Dr. to stop talking the drug -after a couple of months I received multiple SHOCKS. Went to the hospital and was told to resume taking the Amiodorone. When I Stoped that caused me to experience the shocks. Dr Mistake! I now take the Amiodorone religiously.
