I had a heart attack and SVT.
No blockage during the cath so no stents.
While at rehab 4 weeks later I had 182 for 25 hours.
So at rehab they hauled me to ER and brought me back down with meds. I went into another hospital where they did place and ICD the next day.
Seven years later I had my new one placed last Sept.
I was on blood thinner for several years (I had 4 different Cardiologists so far.) The newest one had me taken off of it after I explained I was bleeding (nose) during the winter. Also any little cut would gush for hours. So happy to say they told me most people are taken off of the blood thinner after a year. I am still on daily baby aspirin.

I'm not a doctor, but I'll share what I know. Yes, I suffer SVT and take Plavix plus aspirin to prevent clots, however the "thiners" are not for SVT. Supraventricular Tachycardia is a benign rhythm and doctors do not feel it causes an increased risk. It's just annoying to those of us who have it.
In my case the Plavix aspirin routine is for Atrial Fibrillation as well as a CRT-D (defibrillator). So if you have other heart issues the doctor may prescribe a thinner primarily to reduce the risk of clots. Hope this helps
