I have been with Mended Hearts for almost 3 years. I had open heart surgery in 2009, mitral valve surgery in 2012 and an aortic dissection in 2014 After my dissection, I became extremely depressed. My wife didn't know how to help me. She still is a volunteer at a local hospital here in Georgia and asked our coordinator if she knew anyone that might help me. She put her in contact with Mr Bill Holland who called me the next morning and after several calls asked me if I would like to volunteer with Mended Hearts. I said I would try it. Bill and Mended Hearts saved my life. I volunteer 2 days a week at the hospital along with Bill and my wife who makes rounds with me as my caregiver. I'm able to help the patients I see due to my experiences. My only wish is that Mended Hearts had a way to get more exposure nationally via television. If anyone that needs or would like to talk with me, my name is Sig Cohen, Atlanta Georgia 678-634-9028

I do not know how long ago the forum began. This is my first copy. It should be very helpful in addressing issues of concern. I have been a telephone visitor for my local chapter and hope that I can recommend the forum to those recovering from cardiac events.
