I have been functioning with an LVAD for over seven years, and have been on a steady dose of Lisinopril (10 mg/day) for that time.
The Lisinopril is for blood pressure, and is said to induce a dry cough in some people. I have had the dry cough. In June 2020 and again in September I talked to my cardiologist about switching to Losartan, and I started that early in October. In two weeks I was experiencing a very itchy rash. I have since switched back to Lisinopril and in two weeks on that I have seen and felt a definite improvement.
Conclusion: I cannot be sure that the new drug caused the rash, but I'd rather live with the cough than the rash. After the seven years the Lisinopril was a known condition.
