Randy and Jennifer, I was 53 when my cardiologist said I needed a CABG. When I talked to the Cardiac Surgeon I told him we needed to wait 4 weeks until after my daughter got married. He said it was not an option because if my artery blocked the rest of the way I would be dead by the time I hit the floor he also said he was going to do 3 but would plumb all he found. He did 5 and when I was released he told me walk 10 minutes twice a day and double it every week. My daughter was living at home at the time and she was bound and determine I would walk her down the aisle. Having a goal of doing that by the end of the second week I was walking 35 minutes. I did not have time to be depressed I was going to walk her down the aisle. Thanks to the Mended Hearts Accredited Visitor and my daughter I did it. I also went back flying commercial airlines and became SCUBA qualified. The only limit you have is what you put on yourself.
Good Luck in your recovery.
