    Hi Everybody,

I am so happy that I have found this forum. I am a reasonably healthy 43 year old (dad of 3) that just scheduled surgery for heart valve replacement for September and needless to say I am terrified as I don't know what to expect. I am quite active and although I have only mild symptom's (dizzy sometimes, breathless sometimes, more tired) my doctor told me that I have severe stenosis and that I should get this fixed soon. Any

Anyway, I would love to get insight into recovery times, limitations post op, realistic expectations, etc...

    Many thanks

    Adam

Hi Kevin. It's going to take a couple months before you can use your arms like that. The advice I'll give you is the more you use your hands and arms in the beginning the more pain you'll be in. Get ready to take it easy for a bit . Godspeed your recovery friend!
