    Hi Everyone!

I thought we could share our summertime tips with each other. Keeping my heart kiddo cool in the summer is a huge deal. He gets overheated quickly and we have to really monitor him when the weather warms up. We usually limit outside time to the mornings and the evenings, but that doesn't always work. When we are outside I use a wet towel for his forehead and the back of his neck, I push fluids, and keep him in the shade. Also....he's in the pool as much as he can be in the summer, so that helps.

What are the things that you do?

Have you considered a cooling vest?

(This is just an example, I don't have any specific product recommendations I can personally share.)

I am a 49 yr TOF and I use cooling towels.  You can get them at any sporting good store.  They look like chamois.  I even used them when we rode on a motorcycle cross country to Sturgis.  Believe me it was hot.  I was the only one of the group that was comfortable!  They are pretty cheep and  are rechargeable with almost any temp water does not need to be cold to work.  You can cut them to size.  I have seen some people wrap them inside of a headband.  Would work great in a Survivor Buff and I think appropriate since we are all warriors!

Be cautious of how much water your child drinks.... input/output.
Goes both ways not enough or too much water can flush system of potassium, esp our little ones on diuretics.
