  • 1.  Patient Half Marathon Fund Raising

    Hello everyone,

I am planning on running a 1/2 marathon next summer (2019) and was wondering if anyone knew any methods for raising funds for this or other CHD organizations.

I am 24 year old guy and with HPLHS and want to show the community that limits can be broken if you put your mind (or heart haha) to it, within reason.

Basically, I want to give back. Any ideas?

All input would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Michael- That is a great way to give back to the world as a whole. The lives that you touch will always remember you and what you have wanted to achieve.

Something that I've done and also others is to utilize your social media contacts. Facebook allows you to get in touch with the community by
doing a donation to you under Fundraising. I did that for Mended Little Hearts and I got a lot of donations and the money will be used to inspired
more awareness. You don't have to do anything, just look at the information page that talks about donations.  So here is what I did: I wrote in lieu
of flowers etc., that I challenged my friends to donate $20 (can be more) to my goal of $200. It seems like a big step but once people find it, it goes like crazy.

Good Luck, and keep doing your best.
