Teresa,
Many of the good peds CHD centers have adult CHD programs too. I would contact one. A second opinion from a well-respected CHD center is always a good thing. I think, if valves are not working well, infections can happen more easily. I know that to be true with endocarditis.
I hope you get some good answers. There are many more things they can do with aortic valves these days.

Subject: O2 issues and peds to adult
Hello, my son has had multiple surgeries and defects but the one that is ongoing is aortic stenosis. He had leaflets opened up again a year and a half ago but a tee showed bicuspid in March. Recently came down with cellulitis and spot is getting smaller but o2 is dropping into 80's w a little bit of walking. Can a valve situation do this quickly? He's on antibiotics and valve is still Stenotic. 2nd ques: if he just turned 18 can I still get second opinions at peds centers for congenital heart? Thanks!
