My own back pain story, while not directly on point, may be relevant. I had a protruding disc at L4-L5 with pain radiating down both legs so that I could not jog two steps. My GP prescribed physical therapy. I would do the stretches prescribed by the therapist in my health club locker room where other back pain sufferers would recognize what I was doing. Each would then tell me their story. Each had tried modality after modality until they found the miracle cure. But each miracle was different. It was PT or chiropractic or Feltonkraus massage or acupuncture or acupressure or yoga. Studies confirm that all passive modalities are about equally effective. In six months symptoms will subside. Once you've had a back problem you are subject to more. Try not to overdo it, and if you have pain, take twice as many over the counter pain meds as the bottle says.
