Hello I am Tammy, just went through open heart surgery for Infective Endocarditis.

Which basically what happen was I got infected by a rare bacteria called T Whipple in my blood stream (comes from soil and water I was a gardener) and it started growing a garden on my value in my heart.  I had to have both values replaced (cow values) and ended up with a pace maker because it threw my bottom chamber rhythm off.

So I was very Blessed and I am very new to all of this and all at 61 years old.  They said that the bacteria had been in my blood stream for about a 1.5 years to cause the damage it did.

Thanks for any information you can pass on

    Tammy

    Tammy,
An unfortunate cause of your infection but your Heart should be good for many, many years.
    Good luck,

    Thank you Vic
I know I was blessed it took them 4 days to identify the bacteria, they sent every where to find out what it was. They told me 1 in a million.
