Hi Terry - I had kind of a similar situation to yours. I had a robotic MVR in 2017 and at my one-year echo, they discovered that one of the chords holding the valve had broken and that I had severe leakage again. No symptoms, but had to have another repair in 2019. I later found out that re-operations are fairly common because with a repair, the valve continues to deteriorate potentially causing further leakage. My second repair was open heart and my surgeon put in a smaller ring to hopefully hold the valve better. So far, so good!

Good afternoon everyone,
I'm brand new to this site and never ever thought I'd be back again on a heart forum. I had a robotic MV repair in 2010 at Holy cross in Ft. Lauderdale. It went well but the leak was never fully sealed and I found out a few months ago through an echo-stress test that the valve is coming undone, and that the leak is now labeled as "severe." I have no symptoms and feel great but I know that the second surgery is inevitable. The question is when. Anyone out there have a similar situation?
Thanks!!
Terry
