  • 1.  6 month scan of aorta

    Posted 12-09-2021 15:42

Hi everyone! You may remember that I posted about an ascending aortic aneurism  that was found incidentally on a CT scan for calcium score back in June of this year. My aortic root was also found to be slightly dilated.

i entered the aorta surveillance program at Emory/St Joe's Heart Center back in September.

i had my 6 month scan today and am thrilled to report that there is no change in my measurement. My aortic root was actually slightly overstated on the 1st scan. I do not need to return for a repeat scan for 1 year.

i was concerned because I had a total knee replacement 1 month ago and major surgery really can stress the heart.

i hope you all have a great holiday season. I know I will!!!!!

    warm regards

    Dear Meredith
my open heart surgery was 9 years ago, and then i had a knee replacement surgery 4 years ago . ( my cardiologist approved me for knee surgery 1 year after the heart operation but i was chicken for several years). Kudos to you. !!!!!!
Doing your knee surgery is proof that you are a survivor and want to enjoy all the opportunities in life!!!
