Profound Fatigue - Aortic Valve Stenosis / Mild to Moderate Cardiomegaly

    Hello all,

I'm scheduled for an open surgery to replace my almost 12 year old prosthetic bovine aortic valve, on April 20.(moderate to severe stenosis) I also have a 4.1 mm ascending aortic aneurysm that remains stable for 13 years.
My question: Does/did anyone else experience profound fatigue due to the aortic valve stiffening? I'm being told the leaflets of my small prosthetic valve still "open fairly well." The surgeon says I could most likely put surgery off another 6 months, but I don't see the value in this for my own reasons/ timing.

The issue: I wake up after a good nights sleep … STILL TIRED?!  I also experience shortness of breath while carrying items, pushing, pulling, or stooping down, but this is typical and expected for the aortic valve being stenotic. I'm petite, not overweight at all, 67 years old.

Thank you for any feedback about your experience!

    Debi :)
