Chapter News and Update
- The Chapter’s Holiday Gathering was held December 14 at the home of Tracy and Sam Kaiser. 2020 officers were installed that evening by Daniel Moravec, Southwest Regional Director. We thank Tracy and Sam or welcoming us into their home and Daniel for making the trip to install the officers.
- A pillow stuffing party was held October 17 at the home of Millie Henn. Nine chapter members attended and stuffed 127 pillows. Thanks to all who help with this important project. Another pillow party will be held in the new year.

Chapter 12 Visiting Team Report 2019 Summary
2019 was a very good year for the Mended Hearts accredited visitors’ team at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. The results are stated later in this report. I’m sad to say two of our accredited visitors stepped down this year but glad to say two new members stepped up and became accredited visitors.
Our thanks and appreciation go to John Hasandras and Michelle Weller for all their volunteer time and efforts given to comforting heart patients through the years. We will see them at our regular meetings and continue with our friendship and support of them. As we go into 2020 we welcome to the visiting team, Tammy Craddock and Susan Hollas, two excellent volunteers for the visiting program. I also welcome back Millie Henn to our team after a long year of life challenges.
This year will see a change in our relationship with BS&W as we improve communications. I propose we encourage the formation of an “Hospital Advisory Committee” to help direct us to the needs of the hospital and patients. This will be discussed with hospital staff during the early months of this year.

Pillows: It was a labor of love that the members put into the pillows this year as was previous years. A warm thank you goes to all members supporting the pillow project in one way or another. I would mention names but believe you all feel as I do in that it is a team venture. I appointed Rick Whitney as the chair for our pillows and he stepped up to the task quite willingly. Thank you, Rick.

Mended Hearts Cen-Tex Chapter 12
October 24, 2019 Meeting Minutes
Mended Hearts Chapter 12 met Thursday, October 24, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., Room 1715 in the Baylor Scott& White Center for Diagnostic Medicine. At 6:30 p.m. following the social time, Vice President, Rick Whitney introduced the speaker Rocky Kelley from Cardio Visual. Cardio Visual, a heart health app, developed by cardiologist, provides information on procedures, treatment options and disease process. App can be placed on any cell phone. The business meeting was called to order at 7:00 by President Lloyd Jeffries with 17 members in attendance. The September 2019 minutes were approved. Treasurer Letty Rucker gave the financial report (report is attached). Mr. Jeffries reported for the visiting team. To date, the team has made 827 visits in 2019.
The slate for 2020 officers was presented: President: Lloyd Jeffries; Vice President: Rick Whitney; Secretary: Millie Henn; Treasurer: Letty Rucker; Visiting Chair; Lloyd Jeffries. The slate was accepted by acclamation. Mr. Jeffries thanked the new officers for their willingness to serve and thanked Linda Morris for her long term service as secretary.
The refreshments were provided by Millie Henn. Dave and Margie Standin will provide the refreshments for January 2020. The Kaisers volunteered for February and the Ruckers for March. The annual Holiday Gathering at the Kaiser’s home Saturday, December the 14h at 6:30 p.m. The 2020 officers will be installed at the gathering. There will be no regular chapter meetings in November and December due to the holidays. The next meeting will be January 23, 2020. The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
