Ok, day after tomorrow for TAVR. I have an excellent team. My structural heart guy is part of the original team that got TAVR approved for use, and the cardio thoracic surgeon is head of the cardiac surgery department at the highest rated hospital system in the country for 2025, so I'm going with they've got their part nailed. What bothers me is how fast I went from no big deal to not being able to walk from car to the grocery store without being exhausted and out of breath. A month ago, literally 16 Jan, a different Dr told me I could wait 6 months and do another echo. In a month, really more like 2 weeks, I was waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air with my heart pounding like I'd just run a marathon. I couldn't go to the gym any more, because I couldn't breathe. It happened so fast. I wonder if there's something they haven't told me, but since I have surgery schedule so quickly they just figured I didn't need to know. I am really glad I only have to get through today and tomorrow before surgery, but I'm worried that whatever caused the rapid deterioration could cause a stroke in surgery, or something else that would lead to emergency open heart surgery.  2 of the top drs on the east coast. One whose team basically created TAVR. Research says these 2 work together often. So maybe it's just that the best drs work as a team. They must work well together. I'm young for this. 67. Last summer I was dancing all night. I can't wait for this to be over.

Good luck, Sarah. I am thinking of you. Just know that I also was 67 when I had my heart attack and emergency open heart bypass surgery. I'm 75 now and going strong. I'm looking forward to hearing how you're doing after you get through this. I'm hoping you'll feel as great as I did after mine.

Hi Ira.  Home now. Procedure done. I feel a little off, not quite myself but better. Stronger.  My heart doesn't feel like it's working as hard, but it is beating 105 time a minute. I gust up so maybe it balancing itself out. I have a headache. Not too bad, but there. I feel jittery.
uncertain. I'm very glad to be home. One night in the hospital was more than enough. But my heart is beating, and I can breathe. That's the important stuff, right. 😀💕

That's great news, Sarah. Now just understand that you need to give yourself time to heal. And ask your doctors/nurses about an appropriate cardiac rehab program you can attend to assist in your recovery.

You will get to where you want to go with time and patience so just love every moment of consciousness.
