Ok, day after tomorrow for TAVR. I have an excellent team. My structural heart guy is part of the original team that got TAVR approved for use, and the cardio thoracic surgeon is head of the cardiac surgery department at the highest rated hospital system in the country for 2025, so I'm going with they've got their part nailed. What bothers me is how fast I went from no big deal to not being able to walk from car to the grocery store without being exhausted and out of breath. A month ago, literally 16 Jan, a different Dr told me I could wait 6 months and do another echo. In a month, really more like 2 weeks, I was waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air with my heart pounding like I'd just run a marathon. I couldn't go to the gym any more, because I couldn't breathe. It happened so fast. I wonder if there's something they haven't told me, but since I have surgery schedule so quickly they just figured I didn't need to know. I am really glad I only have to get through today and tomorrow before surgery, but I'm worried that whatever caused the rapid deterioration could cause a stroke in surgery, or something else that would lead to emergency open heart surgery. 2 of the top drs on the east coast. One whose team basically created TAVR. Research says these 2 work together often. So maybe it's just that the best drs work as a team. They must work well together. I'm young for this. 67. Last summer I was dancing all night. I can't wait for this to be over.
