I am a 74 year old male who was born with a congenital heart defect known as an IVSD. At the age of 13 I received an IVSD repair performed at Wilford Hall hospital on Lackland Air Force Base Kansas. After a near fatal post op infection I survived and lived on to enjoy a successful aviation career and currently live a very active life here in Melbourne Beach Florida.
I spent 10 years as a hospital volunteer, working mostly in the ER at Holmes Regional Medical Center here in Melbourne Florida. I am interested in the Mended Hearts Organization as possibly a volunteer to give support to young people and their families here in my area.
