Dear Cardiac Patients,
If you live near Portsmouth, NH, please consider attending our monthly Mended Hearts cardiac support group. We meet the second Tuesday of each month for an hour or so to discuss what we have gone through, what we are about to go through, and how we survive and have healthier lives. It's always informative and we love seeing each other every month. Caregivers and our visitors attend, too. One woman saved her husband's life while on a walk. One man, who had a long journey leading to a new heart, did finally receive a new heart. From time to time we have speakers. The best was when our heart surgeons graciously gave us their precious time to bring in their amazing heart lung machine to demonstrate how they perform open heart surgery. They do not remove a patient's heart as they used to; the machine becomes the heart and recirculates the patient's blood during surgery! We were so grateful to have them talk to us.
We meet at Portsmouth Regional Hospital at 6:30 PM. The address is 333 Borthwick Avenue in Portsmouth, NH. Very easy to access from I-95 and or Route 33.
