Hello Everyone,
I am hoping someone out there can help. I need to find someone who might be going through the same problems I am going through. I need to connect with any mitral valve patients who have had a valve ring put in and continue to have arrhythmia issues.
I am told my valve ring repair is the cause of why I continue to experience Atrial Flutter with SVT episodes. The doctors I am currently seeing are telling me my heart ring is where my heart is misfiring and they are unable to access it. I have had a maze procedure and 3 ablations by 2 different doctors. The last Dr. said he was 95% sure he could fix me. He attempted to get to this misfire 2 times with no success as I just had my 14th cardioversion yesterday.
I am currently seeing a new EP. He said another ablation is a 50/50 chance. However, his partner boasts that he could fix this because the last doctor didn't complete the scarring to stop the misfire. The more scars and the more procedures I get the more they are killing off my heart. I am only 48 years old and I DO NOT WANT a pacemaker as I am told it will require an av node ablation which will make me 100% dependant of this pacer.
Needless to say, this cycle of continual cardioversions and ablations is not working for me. What if anything are you doing to help yourself if this is your scenario also?
Also, are any of you aware of a place I can go to do research to learn who in the country can fix this and know for SURE they can do this? I know nobody can give me a 100% guarantee, but if I am going to make any further moves on surgeries I need to make sure I am doing the right thing. How can I research doctors who have had this very problem and know exactly how to correct it? I need an expert!!
I simply cannot continue like this. The PTSD associated with 188 heart rate is horrible. Mentally and physically.
Any help you can provide is appreciated.
