Glad to hear you are at peace with "watch and wait" !!
I too have a 4.2 TAAA which has remained stable for 2 1/2 years. I'm at the point of annual checks, rather than every 6 months.
( I also have a 10 1/2 year old bio-prosthetic aortic valve which will need re-surgery to replace the valve in the very near future/maybe a year from now. The aneurysm will not be repaired simultaneously because it's stable… unless it changes in the meantime )
May you continue to enjoy your life!
Best wishes,
Debi :)

Subject: My surgeon consult for Ascending Aortic Aneurysm
Hi Mended Heart Friends,
I had my consultation with the thoracic surgeon at the aorta clinic here in Atlanta at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital today re. my AAA of 4.2. I met with the surgeon and his NP who heads up the Survaillence Program.
I am much relieved and ready to go on living my life. I have my second scan scheduled for December (6 months after the first scan was done when the AAA was discovered.) They answered all my questions and calmed my fears as much as Is possible.
i an in the watchful waiting period and while, yes, I wish I didn't have this problem at all, I am very grateful it was found and can be monitored and corrected if needed.
im not on any meds at this point since my BP and pulse are not elevated. I will check my BP regularly and handle any issues through my PCP.
In the Meantime, I will continue to take care of myself exercise, eat well, enjoy my family and continue all the fun travel with my husband.
thanks to everyone for being here. You are a source of comfort and inspiration to me.
hugs,
