Hi there I'm Shannon,
I had thankfully accidently found out about my Bicuspid aortic valve, aortic aneurysm in ER when I was unable to breath and walk well. Although it was hard to go through having DVT and bilateral pulmonary clots in my lungs, which is what led me to the ER. I was unable to walk but had so signs of a DVT. I'm thankful it happen because if I was not for that I would have not found out about my bicuspid aortic valve and my aneurysm which is about 4.6 cm and being monitored. After my ER and hospital stay. I then found out a long list of health problems I was born with and never really knew about. The hardest part for me is that I am terrified of open heart surgery when the time comes and to make it a little more challenging is that I have a clotting disorder that I clot easier. It is called Factor V Leiden. The cardiologist mention yes this makes it a lot more challenging. I was wondering if anyone here also has a clotting disorder and had open heart surgery. What your experience was like?
