Born in 1952 with Tetrology of Fallot. Had 3 open-heart surgeries all tied to my CHD. The first was when I was 12, second when I was 49, and third just before turning 60.
No corrective surgery for Tet babies had come along yet back when I was born in 1952. My folks were told I probably would not live beyond being a toddler. And if I made it to adolescence somehow that I certainly would not make it into adulthood.
Well, here I am 66 years old. Married. Retired at 62 after working 20 years for a company. Living in beautiful east Tennessee with my wife enjoying the retired life with church, volunteer work, and involved at our local senior center. Life is good!!
