Aortic valve replacement. I’m semi retired having worked most of my career in healthcare. I’m also a runner so having my surgery and worried how it would curtail my active lifestyle was of huge concern. I’m blessed in that I can still do most things I did before just at a less intensity.. and I’m equally proud that I completed 2 half marathons within 18 months of my surgery. I am passionate about patient advocacy especially as it relates to improving outcomes, quality, affordable care, and access. I am a former board president for the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Assn. working at the state and National level to improve healthcare.
