At 72 (in 2021), I suffered a massive dissection (the aortic arch, the entire thoracic aorta, the abdominal aorta, and throw in the proximal portion of three other arteries.... brachiocephalic, right subclavian, and left renal) while working out. Also got a new aortic valve and conduit from Edwards Life Sciences. Remarkably, my recovery has been rather uneventful.
I was a decathlete (gym rat and track rat), and I'm having trouble getting a new life in my sites.
