My Heart Story:
After surviving cardiac arrest in 1998, I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and was treated with medications and an ICD. Twenty years later, I received an LVAD as a bridge to a transplant. On January 22, 2019, I received my new heart.
I currently facilitate a Mended Hearts support group at my local hospital, and also am a Mended Hearts patient visitor, visiting transplant patients at the University of MN Medical Center.
