My heart story began on December 23, 2010 when I was told I needed my aortic valve replaced. Thus began a whole new chapter in my life. We had sold our home just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska and began traveling in our RV. In February 2011 I had a successful surgery and immediately began the recovery process.
With health issues looming we sold the RV and settled in the Bellingham, WA area, near our son and his family.
In 2012 Chapter 382 Mended Hearts was chartered and my husband Jim and I joined. I have served as a Visitor, Chapter trainer, Secretary, Vice President and for the past 2 1/2 years, as president.I believe things happen for a reason and my heart issue has given me a wonderful way to help others while helping myself.
